Um...I don't know if you noticed, but Pigpen is not onstage at all.

LIA,

I assumed with your razor sharp intellect that you would have gotten the "zen riddle". I bought Hooteroll in the fall of 1971 and certainly can distinguish the difference between Howard Wales and Pigpen's style of playing. And if I was too deaf to hear, there is plenty of banter in the reviews regarding Howard Wales performance on the tape.

The point being is thus; consistent with the discussion in the "Lost Live Dead" article that I linked and you responded to, no one on record recalls exactly what occurred this evening in late August 1969 other than the proposed 81 minutes of music on this tape, allegedly recorded on 08/28/69. Even testimony from folks in attendance regarding band's and setlist's are unaccounted for.

Here's an offering from David Lemieux allegedly the following evening at The Family Dog 08/29/69 featuring a hearty Lovelight and Midnight Hour.

Only you would try and spin this into some horseshit riddle...Same old Rob, never admit your wrong, ever. Another huge tell right there dummy....Then again, you were never considered the most self aware person.

Hey, I know. Why dont you tell us again how you made your first tape of the band at 14. I love that story!

"zen riddle"? come on, kochman, don't try to cover up your stupidity with half-assed spiritual psycho-babble.

In case you're still unclear, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan was a member of the Grateful Dead. He sang blues numbers and played the organ and the harmonica. He looked like this.

Judging by the last couple of threads, I'm starting to think you might be confusing him with another famous Pig-Pen (note different spelling), who is a lovable, if irretrievably filthy, cartoon character from the Peanuts comic strip. He looks like this.

Kochman, you just keep digging yourself in deeper!

There is no shame in having gotten on the bus in 1994...

Why lie anyway? Everyone here knows that you are a fraud.

The Casey Jones & Midnight Hour in Lemieux's selection are actually from 9/6/69. It's unusual for him to conflate two shows on one stream like that...also interesting that the portion of 9/6/69 in circulation is not in the Vault.

Does anyone know why Koch is posting so much here? What happened to his site?

Pigpen was missing from the stage during the opening act, setbreak, encore, and the entire rest of the show.
